Sethu Trust, in collaboration with Bookworm Trust is conducting a 6 months study on Reading in English in Middle Schools in Goa, starting in July 2014. Commissioned by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the study will cover 12 schools across the state, and explore the literacy level of students, school aspects, teacher and principal attitudes, beliefs and knowledge about literacy instruction, curricular analysis and home environment.
We need the following personnel who must be able to give 6 months commitment till the completion of the project.
1) Research Assistants (RA): RAs will be required to work full time on the project. They should have a Masters degree in Psychology/Social Work / Education or related fields. Knowledge of English and Hindi or Konkani or Marathi is a must. Applicants should be computer-literate and have a 2-wheeler driving license. Possession of a 2-wheeler is an added advantage.
2) Consultants in Reading Research (CRR): Consultants will be required to provide part-time inputs to the various components of the project and will be paid on an hourly basis. They must have a Masters degree in Psychology/ Social Work/Education or related fields and possess research as well as report writing experience.
