The day I came to know that I would visit and observe a library class as part of Bookworm team work I thought it would be a huge library room with many books where I had to maintain silence, the books you take to read you must read quietly, no talking, no smiling but as I entered bookworm Ma’am Sujata introduced me to her team and they made me a part of their plan for what they were about to do in school.

The way the team of Bookworm explained about the programme I was very surprised and excited about it as we never had this kind of programme in school.

The team of Bookworm entered the school gates the students were with smiling faces I was surprised to see that but I knew why they were smiling. As the teacher walks in the library class students are ready with their story books and waiting for the teachers instructions, it was nice to see that teacher starting the class with a small game to get the attention of the students. I never experienced this in my library class. Before the story was read out, a small discussion was done based on the story the teacher not only reads the story but in between asks questions to see if the students are understanding and making the student think about. In my library class it was just distribution of books and we were left alone to read it. A song and an activity was done based on the story may it be drawing, free writing or colouring on their own with a little help from the teacher. I noticed the students enjoying the activity with happy smiling faces showing their friends the stars they received from their teacher.

My library class was just a regular boring class where we were left on our own reading your own book. It is a good experience to have library like this for the children who can’t reach out to the books.
