The Bookworm Film club is thrilled to invite you to our screening of ‘Trikal’ (Past, Present, Future), on Monday, the 12th of October, at 4:00 pm, at the Bookworm Library.
Written and directed by Shyam Benegal, ‘Trikal’ (1985) explores the trials of an aristocratic family in Goa, as they struggle with social and political transformation at the cusp of Goa’s ‘liberation’ from Portuguese governance.
In keeping with our October theme – of ghosts and ghost stories, watch as dark secrets of the family’s past are revealed in a series of supernatural conversations with unhappy spirits.
Part comedy, part social commentary, ‘Trikal’ was awarded two National Film Awards- for Best Direction and Best Costume Design- in 1986.
