Bookworm offers 2 exciting programmes on the basics of acting. Classes are fun and learning is through games and exercises. The programmes are empowering and enriching. They teach skills and at the same time strengthen core human values and build self-confidence. Both courses should be taken together if seeking Trinity College of London certificate exam.
The Programmes
Act Out
Workshop on Acting – how to use your voice and body to express emotions and create different characters, how to use space and understand text.
Duration – 12 weeks; 1 class a week @ 1.5 hours.
Age group – 8+ | Experience – No prior experience required
Fee – Rs. 6,000/-
Speech and Drama (combined with Act Out)
Learn the basics of drama and elocution – how to speak clearly and use your voice and body to express emotions, how to use space and understand and analyse text for performance. The course will culminate in exams conducted by the Trinity College of London.
Duration – 20 weeks; 1 class a week @ 1.5 hours
Age group – 8+ | Experience – No prior experience required

Rajyashree (Raj) Dutt has been in theatre from the age of six and continues to be passionate about it. She has won many awards and accolades as an actress and has performed all over India. In 1999 a reviewer for The Hindu said that she was among “…possibly the most talented Indian stage actresses we have…” She has been teaching drama to children as well as adults. One of her students said, “Mrs. Dutt is one of the most talented, loving and effective teachers I have had the privilege of learning from.” For the last decade she has been drama director for Sunaad, a Bangalore based group performing classical Indian music with a large element of theatre. Raj has also had a brief but exciting experience of acting in a film with the legendary Waheeda Rehman.
