Thousands of books, ten thousands of clothing, household , jewellery, electricals, shoes,bags & accessory items and all to raise lakhs of rupees to have millions of pages read by Bookworm children in schools and communities in Goa. What a tremendous initiative – a labour of love! It was unbelievably inspiring to watch each member of the Bookworm team get right down to the mammoth task of setting up this exciting community event: big smiles on sweaty faces as cartons were lifted, carried and emptied of books and toys and board games and kurtis and shirts and shorts and dresses and shawls and shoes and jewelry and crockery and glassware and art work to decorate walls and coffee tables!
And all to raise funds so that the magic of reading may reach the children in every far-flung corner of Goa.
