The boy who made his own book

Written by Barkha

There was once a little boy who loved to read and read.

His parents worked in the plantations because there was need.

They would bring him bits of paper every day

And he read it out and told them what it would say.

There was sports, politics, business and more

He would fix the bits where the news had tore

As he grew up to be a happy young man

He stopped playing with his truck and van.

He wanted to look and look

And make a newspaper book

With stories of years gone by

Torn bits and pieces that did not fly

He then put it all together

To make a big book

Full of stories of here and there

So with others he could share

The stories of his childhood days

And his love of reading and its mad ways…

Please donate to Bookworm’s 8th Annual Jumble Sale as we fundraise for the cause of literacy in Goa. Every year is a step closer to making reading accessible to children yet every year also threatens to affect the continuation of the work. We need all the blessings in the form of both money and kind. Please donate anything that can be used to raise readers. Thank you!
