Whose Mouse Are You?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It’s a wet,  wet Saturday morning. But where are the kids?! It’s getting late…maybe Preschool Saturday won’t happen today?!

10:30 on the dot and in 5 minutes, Preschool Saturdayis on! The theme today is ‘Family Ties’ and in theme for the week to come, we’re celebrating Raksha Bandhan.

The book for the day is ‘Whose Mouse Are You?’…and thus begins the discussion.

‘So….whose mouse are you?’ I asked the little ones

Sid said he was his Mama’s mouse. So did Anoushka. Shaurya said he was his Nanu’s mouse. And Riya…..Riya said she was a princess, not a mouse!

Story reading done, and we  took to crayons and colours to make cards for the brothers. Anoushka is going to post hers to her brother in Chennai. Shaurya is sending his to his Nanu in Patna.

Riya was just happy to be colouring….and she wrote a special message for her brother.

Yes…..they took their task rather seriously as pastels met paper, and soon, pictures and messages were being compared across the table!

And then, the only thing left to celebrate the day was….Rakhis!

Hearts and beads. This is how the kids were going to band their brothers. So they set off to make Rakhis and discussions broke out about what colours they were using and what presents they’d get for return for their bands.
