Bindi Su & Friends….read their way across India

…and they’re off! The little ones who hopped aboard for the Read Your Way Across India week at Bookworm put their first footprint on the map!

Where have you been this holiday? Lots of answers spanning across the state. Some, the globe.

Where are you going now?

And so… starting in our own state; Goa, the kids took a drive through the landscapes that Bindi Su sees.

“Will Bindi Su stop?” Elaine asks. Clara, quickly responded. “Yes! Bindi Su is tired of the noise! She’s going to stop!”

Someone at the table asks, “Why is Bindi Su a girl? Bindi sounds like a boy and Su sounds like a girl.”

“I think Bindi Su isn’t stopping because she’s late for school!” These were the theories that the kids came up with.

And these were the theories that guided their versions of alternate endings to Bindi Su’s story; which once done listening to the story, they began drawing.

And that was not all….they decided that Bindi Su shouldn’t be alone. So they were given red clay.

And Bindi Su was given friends. She now has 2 red airplanes, a red train and a red bus to go with her on all her journeys.
