Cholta Cholta, learn while you walk, is an initiative being launched by Bookworm, Panjim.

The main objective of the program is to share the city, its buildings, stories, art and natural heritage with young people. The walks are all guided and will include observations of structures, stories, interesting facts and myths with reference to places and events. Walks will end with interactive exercises designed to reinforce and engage children in thinking and learning.

Cholta Cholta aims to bring together young people who live or visit the city and encourage them to  learn more about what the city was like, is made up of now and can continue to be. The Initiative hopes to contextualize the living heritage of Panjim for children and families.  Guided walks are scheduled for every month of the year, onwards.

Registrations open at Bookworm for children ages 9 and over. Children younger than 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cholta Cholta’s first walk is scheduled for Friday 13th August. The walk will begin from Azad maidan Gate at 4.30 pm. Children to be dropped off at 4.30 pm. The walk will cover the adjoining square and end with an interactive exercise.  Prior registrations essential. Cholta cholta is conceptualized and designed by Pritha Sardessai and Sujata Noronha. Pritha is an architect and Panjim lover. She will bring to the walks her inherent knowledge of the City, its structures and history and her passion for Panjim and Goa. Sujata, an educator will weave stories, art and language activities into the walks to engage, stimulate and learn while walking.
